Job summary

Team Global Express NZ in Invercargill is seeking a Freight Handler to join our local branch. You'll perform a mix of driving and freight sorting in a fast-paced, physically demanding role where teamwork is essential and every day brings something new.

You will load and unload freight, help keep the yard and vehicles safe, and contribute to on-time delivery. A full NZ Class 1 license, forklift OSH cert, and good communication are required; additional licenses and a customer-focused attitude will

Qualifications

• NZ Class 1 license required.
• Forklift license with OSH cert required.
• Class 2 license ideal.
• Dangerous Goods Endorsement ideal.
• Customer-focused attitude and teamwork essential.
• Experience driving on New Zealand roads preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely by hand, or with forklift when required.
• Ensure freight is handled without damage.
• Support branch objectives and use scanning tools efficiently.
• Operate equipment safely and maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team.

Team Global Express NZ delivers freight forwarding, end-to-end transport services, and comprehensive logistics solutions to customers operating in New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill.

Shift: Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.30pm

About the role - Mō te tūŋanga

This isn't just a standard role - you'll have the opportunity to have variation in your day and will be doing a mix of driving and sorting freight. No two days are the same – it's fast-paced, physical work where teamwork is key.

• Load and unload freight safely by hand, or with forklift when required
• Ensure freight is handled without damage
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment

• Clean Full NZ Class 1 License – must have
