Job summary

Global Express NZ Christchurch is seeking a Freight Operator for an afternoon shift. You will load and unload freight, scan and sort goods, and keep operations moving safely and on time in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a clean NZ Class 1 license, a forklift license with OSH, and ideally a Dangerous Goods endorsement. Strong teamwork and clear communication are essential for success in this team-based setting.

Qualifications

• Clean Full NZ Class 1 License – must have.
• Forklift License with OSH cert – must have.
• Dangerous Goods Endorsement – ideal.
• Customer-focused attitude.
• Communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience driving on New Zealand roads.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units.
• Achieve branch objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment

Team Global Express NZ delivers freight forwarding, end-to-end transport services, and comprehensive logistics solutions to customers operating in New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill.

Afternoon Shift: Monday – Friday, Earliest start 10am, latest start 3pm.

About the role - Mō te tūranga

In this hands-on role, you’ll be loading and unloading freight, scanning, sorting and keeping everything moving safely and on time. No two days are the same – its’ a fast‑paced, physical role where teamwork is key.
