About the role
We are seeking an Experienced Plasterer & Painter to join our team on a casual basis. A more permanent role can be considered for the right Applicant. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on varied projects throughout the Whakatane and Bay of Plenty region. As an experienced tradesperson, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality finishes to both residential and commercial properties. This role is ideal for an independent professional who values flexibility and wants to work with a reputable local company.
What you'll be doing
- Working across a variety of projects, from new builds through to renovations, alterations and repair work
- Full interior plastering and stopping
- Skim coating and Level 5 finishes
- Gib stopping, patching and repair work
- Preparing surfaces and completing work to a high-quality finish
- Running jobs independently from start to finish when required
- Working from plans and job specifications
- Liaising with builders, clients and other trades on site
- Minor painting and finishing work where required
- Keeping jobs organised, on schedule and worksites clean and tidy
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in plastering and painting, ideally spanning several years in the building trades industry
- Demonstrated expertise in both interior and exterior finishing techniques
- Knowledge of various plaster types, paint products and surface preparation methods
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in plastering and painting
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to achieve high-quality finishes
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Reliability and professional work ethic with a strong safety awareness
- Valid driver's licence and own transport for travelling between job sites
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople and clients
