Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking an experienced Plasterer for a Tauranga-based project. You will prepare surfaces, install plasterboard, mix and apply plaster, and finish surfaces to a high standard on-site.

We’re looking for hands-on expertise, a pride in quality finishes, and reliability. A NZ qualification or proven plastering experience is essential, with the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal history check.

Qualifications

• A relevant NZ qualification or proven hands-on plastering experience.
• Strong knowledge of plastering techniques and surface preparation.
• Ability to produce a high-quality finish.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work effectively on site.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Able to pass a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, repairing and priming.
• Install plasterboard and related materials where required.
• Mix and apply plaster, render and other materials.
• Apply coats, smooth and finish surfaces for painting.
• Install corner beads, mesh, battens, insulation and vapour barriers as needed.
• Complete exterior finishes such as stucco and sand-cement render.

Pay rate

$32–$36 per hour depending on experience – paid weekly

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing surfaces by cleaning, repairing and priming.
• Installing plasterboard and associated materials where required.
• Mixing and applying plaster, render and other materials.
• Applying coats and smoothing, levelling and finishing surfaces ready for painting.
• Installing corner beads, mesh, battens, insulation and vapour barriers as required.
• Applying exterior finishes such as stucco and sand-cement render.
• Completing work to the required quality and building standards.
