Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Plasterer & Painter role located in Wellington. The role includes preparing interior and exterior surfaces, carrying out plastering work, and applying paint and coatings to residential and commercial properties. Day-to-day tasks involve surface repair, sanding, taping, filling, priming, cutting-in, and finishing to a high standard, as well as cleanup and maintaining a safe, tidy work area. The Plasterer & Painter will read plans and job specifications, select appropriate materials, and work efficiently to meet project deadlines. The role also includes interacting professionally with clients on-site, working cooperatively within a small team, and following company quality and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in plastering, including surface preparation, repair, skimming, and finishing.
• Proficiency in all aspects of painting, such as cutting-in, rolling, spraying, priming, and applying different coatings.
• Ability to read and follow job specifications, measure and plan work, and select appropriate tools and materials.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including safe use of ladders, scaffolds, and equipment.
• Good communication skills, reliability, and a professional approach to working with clients and team members.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks, stand for extended periods, and work at heights as required.
• Previous experience in residential and/or commercial painting and plastering; trade qualification or apprenticeship is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites across the Wellington region.
