Job summary

ATT is offering electrical apprenticeship opportunities on the West Coast, Greymouth. The program provides on‑the‑job training with a regular wage while you learn, and wages increase as you gain skills. Attainders are supported by ATT area managers and training courses organized by ATT.

Ideal candidates are NZ residents or citizens, with reliable transport, a clean record, and a maths-focused background (NCEA Level 2, physics preferred). Driver’s license required; manual preferred.

Qualifications

• Reliability: punctual and dependable.
• Hands-on aptitude and dexterity with tools.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests.
• NZ permanent resident or citizen.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transport, manual preferred.
• Clean criminal record.
• Strong numeracy; good at math (NCEA Level 2) and ideally physics.
• Interest or experience in Electrical trade; any pre-trade course or gateway placement is a plus but not mandatory.

You’ll need to:

• Be reliable – on time every time
• Have some job experience - whether that’s farming, labouring experience, or holiday jobs
• Be good with your hands – you know how to use tools
• Have your driver’s license (Restricted or Full) with reliable transport to get to work - manual preferred
• Have a clean criminal record
• Be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests
• Be a NZ permanent resident or citizen
• Have an insight into the Electrical trade. Very good at math (at least NCEA L2) and preferably have studied physics. Maybe you have completed an electrical pre-trade course or have completed an Electrical gateway placement while at school (but this is not mandatory)
