Job summary

Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre in Mount Wellington, Auckland, is seeking an experienced Duty Manager for casual shifts at the Front Desk. You will support a hands-on team, handle guest enquiries and reservations, and ensure smooth daily operations with a focus on service excellence.

The role requires 12+ months Front Office experience, Opera Cloud familiarity, and current NZ LCQ & Managers Licence (First Aid preferred). You’ll multi-task under pressure with a friendly, professional approach.

Qualifications

• 12+ months Front Office Duty Manager experience.
• Opera Cloud experience preferred.
• Current LCQ & Managers Licence (First Aid an advantage).
• Customer service focus with high standards and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist Duty Manager and team to run smooth day-to-day Front Desk operations.
• Handle guest enquiries, reservations, housekeeping requests and cash handling.
• Ensure compliance with Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act obligations.
• Maintain guest confidentiality and safety; present well.
• Support cross shifts including AM/PM and weekends.

Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre in Mount Wellington is looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our friendly, hands-on team for casualbasis. We are located in a central yet peaceful location on the edge of the Panmure Lagoon.

About You

• Must have at least 12 months experience in Front Office as a Duty Manager
• Experience using Opera cloud is preferred
• Will have current LCQ & Managers Licence (and ideally a First Aid Certificate).
• A passion for customer service, high standards of service and excellent attention to detail.
• Is confident and experienced in all facets of Front Office duties.
• Have the ability to multi-task with a can-do attitude
• Keep a cool head whilst working under pressure
• Shifts available cross AM, PM and weekend shifts
• Are available to start as soon as possible.
• Must have the right to work in NZ

About the Job

• Assist the Duty Manager and team to ensure the smooth and efficient day to day operations of the Front Desk, assisting guests with enquiries, reservations, housekeeping requests, settling guest accounts and ensuring cashiering is accurate
• Responsibility for ensuring compliance with obligations under Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act
• Maintain strict security procedures to ensure guest confidentiality and safety
• Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
• Maintain high hotel standards and ensure guest safety and comfort is paramount
