Job summary

New Zealand Avis Rent A Car Limited is seeking a friendly Rental Operations Agent in Kerikeri. The casual, as-needed position involves front- and back-of-house duties, including assisting customers, processing bookings, and supporting vehicle check-ins and cleaning.

You’ll work during our 8:30 am–9 pm hours, including mornings, evenings and weekends as required, at Kerikeri Airport. A full induction and ongoing training are provided by one of the world’s leading car rental brands.

Qualifications

• Full, clean, valid Class 1 driver’s licence is essential.
• Experience in retail, hospitality or customer service preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment delivering exceptional service.
• Comfortable learning and using computer systems; training provided.
• Follow procedures and company guidelines reliably.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers at the counter, market products and complete rental transactions.
• Process contracts and bookings; manage returns and reservations.
• Inspect vehicles for damages; drive, park and assist with wash bay duties.
• Support front and back-of-house operations to keep service smooth.

We operate 7 days a week, from 8.30 am to 9 pm where we are looking for someone to work as and when needed during our operating hours . This means you could be scheduled to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.

About the Role As what we call a Rental Operations Agent you will be involved in all aspects of our business! This varied role covers both our front and back of house operations. On the counter you will be interacting with our customers, marketing products and services, completing rental transactions, contracts, and bookings. On the other hand, you will be inspecting vehicles for damages and maintenance issues, driving, and parking our cars as well as cleaning vehicles (interior and exterior) in the wash bay so they are ready for our customers.

What we are looking for:

• Full, clean, valid class 1 driver’s licence is essential for this role.
• Previous experience within retail, hospitality, customer service or similar roles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivery exceptional customer service.
• Comfortable learning and using various computer systems to accurately input rental information (training will be provided)
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.
