Job summary

Southern Cross Health Insurance is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Integration Platforms team in Auckland. You will modernise core platforms, build shared services, and migrate workloads from BizTalk to Azure Integration Services, while embracing AI-assisted development and automated deployments.

You will work closely with senior engineers to drive velocity and reliability. The role focuses on cloud-native patterns, API management, and enterprise integration, with a strong DevOps mindset

Qualifications

• Experience with C#, .NET Core and .NET Framework.
• Front-end experience with ReactJS, Angular, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex).
• Hands-on with Azure services, especially Logic Apps and APIM.
• CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Strong problem-solving and independent troubleshooting abilities.
• Nice-to-have: migrating BizTalk to Azure Integration Services (AIS) or API Gateways.

Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy on-prem services into cloud-native architectures on Azure.
• Develop, maintain, and operate Identity Platform, API Gateway, Domain APIs, and integration systems.
• Lead migrations from BizTalk to AIS and ensure security and architecture standards.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery, generate unit tests, and refactor code.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and high availability.
• Troubleshoot distributed services to keep platforms stable.
