We're here to give peace of mind through timely access to quality care, inspire healthier living, and lead positive change across the health system. As a New Zealand-owned, member-based organisation, we're building a future where wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do -- delivering exceptional value for our members and creating an environment where our people thrive.

As we accelerate our shift to a cloud-first, Azure-based technology estate, we're looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to help maintain a resilient, cost-effective and continuously improving cloud infrastructure. This role plays a key part in our insourcing strategy - strengthening internal capability and supporting future cloud initiatives.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who wants to design, build and support enterprise-grade Azure solutions, and who enjoys turning platform improvements, automation and self-service into real operational impact.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Platforms Lead, you'll design and implement scalable, secure and highly available cloud solutions, and manage and monitor our Azure infrastructure for optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
You'll collaborate on new platform features and infrastructure improvements, enhancing self-service, automation and standardisation, while also owning issue resolution - troubleshooting platform issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable fixes.
We're investing - in people, in technology, and in the mission. We're taking a long-term view - investing in our foundations, our people, and the capabilities that will shape the future of healthcare. You'll be part of our insourcing strategy, helping build lasting internal cloud capability and genuinely shape how Southern Cross builds and operates in Azure.
We're building something worth joining. Our teams are growing, our employer brand is gaining real traction in market, and the way we show up for our members and each other is being noticed. This momentum has also been reflected externally - in 2026, Southern Cross placed 8th in the Kantar Corporate Reputation Index and 5th in New Zealand for Trust.
Join a proud, diverse team that's always there, always real, always true. If you thrive in a caring, honest and open culture, we think you'll love working with us.
