Job summary

Southern Cross Health Insurance is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to design, build and maintain enterprise-grade Azure solutions. You will drive automation, self-service capabilities and cost efficiency while supporting a cloud-first, insourced infrastructure strategy.

The role focuses on designing scalable cloud platforms, implementing IaC with Terraform/Ansible/Pulumi, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure services across Azure IaaS and PaaS.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Azure cloud solutions.
• Experience with IaC and automation tooling (Terraform/Ansible/Pulumi).
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, storage, monitoring, security and identity.
• Proven ability to implement CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure Azure cloud solutions.
• Manage and monitor Azure infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate on platform features and infrastructure improvements.
• Enhance self-service, automation, and standardisation across platforms.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Maintain up-to-date platform documentation and runbooks.
• Coordinate incident response and communicate with stakeholders.
• Support cross-functional teams and vendors as needed.
