Job summary

Wai Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie for their Queenstown venues, Public Italian Kitchen, Finz Seafood & Grill, and Bella Cucina. This is a full-time permanent position in a professional kitchen that values quality produce and hospitality.

You will work across all sections, maintain high standards, and support junior chefs while ensuring food safety and consistency. Accommodation help may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in a professional commercial kitchen, or
• A recognised cookery qualification with at least 1 year of commercial kitchen experience.
• A genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• A positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic.
• The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Working across all sections of the kitchen.
• Assisting with ordering, stock control and food preparation.
• Maintaining portion control and minimising waste.
• Training and supporting junior chefs.
• Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.
• Working closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Contributing ideas and helping deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
