Job summary

Great Kitchens NZ is seeking capable chefs to join its professional kitchen teams in New Zealand. The role focuses on delivering reliable cooking, sound kitchen judgment, and a professional approach to teamwork and service across service periods.

Experience with baking and desserts is an added advantage; sponsorship is available for suitable overseas candidates. The position requires shifts including weekends and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commercial kitchen experience in a professional hospitality environment.
• NZ Register Diploma or at least 3 years of relevant chef experience.
• Experience supported by genuine employment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support kitchen operations during busy service periods.
• Prepare and cook dishes to established quality and presentation standards.
• Manage preparation requirements for breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
• Complete accurate portioning, plating and finishing of dishes.
• Prepare sauces, gravies, garnishes and other accompanying components.
• Coordinate preparation and service with the kitchen team.
