Job summary

Summerset is seeking a compassionate Caregiver for our Ellerslie village in Auckland. You’ll support residents with daily living, meals, hygiene, and activities as part of a warm, team‑based environment. Casual, on‑call shifts with a focus on delivering excellent resident care and building strong relationships with residents and staff.

Experience in aged care is preferred; availability across varied shifts, including short notice, is important to us as we continue to provide outstanding care.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role.
• Strong verbal communication and relationship-building.
• Willing to work varied shifts, including short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes.
• Assist with hygiene and daily living tasks.
• Support residents with activities and exercise as part of care plans.
• Follow individual care plans and report changes.

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Ellerslie village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an as and when needed basis.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitmentto being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice
