Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Nelson is seeking a friendly Café Assistant to join our village café team. You will serve residents, families, and visitors with warm hospitality, prepare coffee, cabinet food, and light meals, and help keep the café welcoming.

This casual role offers flexible shifts across the week, a supportive team environment, and opportunities to grow in hospitality while contributing to a vibrant village community.

Qualifications

• The ability to be flexible and pick up shifts across the week often with little notice.
• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask.

Job Description

We’re now looking for a Café Assistant for our Nelson Villagewho shares our love for people and hospitality.

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

This role is a casual role on a as and when needs basis.
