Job summary

Summerset Taupo village is seeking a Café Assistant to help create a welcoming hub for residents, families and visitors. From crafting coffee to serving cabinet food and light meals, you’ll deliver friendly service and maintain a tidy, inviting cafe area.

This casual, as-needed role supports the Chef Manager and Café Supervisor and offers pathways to hospitality qualifications and retail benefits as part of Summerset’s team environment.

Job Description

We’re now looking for a Café Assistant for our Taupo village who shares our love for people and hospitality.

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

You’ll work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

This is a casual position with shifts offered on an as-needed basis.
