Job summary

Summerset Taupo village is seeking a Café Assistant who loves people and hospitality. You’ll help deliver great coffee, cabinet food and light meals, creating a warm, welcoming café for residents, families and visitors.

You’ll work with the Chef Manager and Café Supervisor, handling front-of-house service, cash handling, and event catering for village functions. This is a casual, as-needed role with flexible shifts.

Job Description

We’re now looking for a Café Assistant for our Taupo villagewho shares our love for people and hospitality.

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

You’ll work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

This is a casual position with shifts offered on an as-needed basis.

You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:

• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
