Job summary

Summerset Nelson Village is seeking a Café Assistant to join our welcoming community café. You’ll deliver friendly service, craft great coffee, and prepare light meals for residents, families, and visitors in a warm, cafe-style setting.

The role is casual and on an as-needed basis, with emphasis on flexible shifts, strong barista skills, and a cheerful, customer-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality or café experience.
• Superb barista skills.
• Flexible and able to pick up shifts across the week.
• Warm, friendly personality with strong customer service.
• Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard.

We’re now looking for a Café Assistant for our Nelson Villagewho shares our love for people and hospitality.

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Providing outstanding barista services
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

This role is a casual role on a as and when needs basis.

Qualifications:

You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:

• Previous hospitality or café experience
• Superb barista skills
• The ability to be flexible and pick up shifts across the week often with little notice
• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask
