Job summary

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is seeking an experienced Enterprise Systems Engineer - Cloud to shape, secure and evolve our Microsoft Azure and M365 environments. This cloud engineering role is for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing technology direction to enable the business.

You'll be part of a six-person team serving NZTE, focusing on operational excellence, incident resolution, cloud architecture and roadmaps.

Qualifications

5+ years in Cloud/Infrastructure Engineering or a similar role.
Strong M365 and Azure experience in a medium to large enterprise.
Azure certifications, ideally AZ-104, plus security certs is highly regarded.
Experience with Azure infrastructure, networking, identity, governance and security.
Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC and PIM.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation using Bicep, Terraform, Azure CLI and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

Manage and optimise NZTE's Azure environment through automation and monitoring.
Lead investigation and resolution of complex cloud and infrastructure issues, including major incidents.
Produce designs and steer implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions.
Contribute to cloud roadmaps, architecture decisions and technology planning.
Support projects with key Azure and M365 engineering, security and infrastructure expertise.
Maintain and improve cloud networking and security services (VNETs, NSGs, WAFs, Container Apps).
Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes.
