Job summary

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside is seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support our housekeeping operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will supervise the team, manage rosters, inspect rooms and liaise across departments to ensure safety, cleanliness and efficiency.

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will act as Department Manager in their absence and contribute to budgeting, supplier management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant hotel/hospitality experience.
• Experience supervising housekeeping teams.
• Strong knowledge of rostering, stock control and inventory.
• Experience with purchasing, cost control and staff training.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle shifts including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily housekeeping operations and supervise team members.
• Allocate duties, rostering and workforce planning.
• Conduct room and public-area inspections to ensure standards.
• Manage supplies, equipment, linen, stock and inventory.
• Assist with purchases, budgets and cost control.
• Lead recruitment, induction and performance management; train staff.
