Job summary

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead our Housekeeping Department in this fast-paced operation.

This senior role is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort, driving productivity, and leading and developing a diverse team. The role requires strong rostering, budgeting and safety compliance in NZ hospitality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in hotel housekeeping or service operations, including supervisory or management experience.
• Experience supervising diverse teams in a busy hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, room inspections, rostering and quality control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with budgeting, labour cost management and supplier coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department.
• Plan and allocate daily work according to occupancy and requirements.
• Prepare and manage rosters, staffing levels and resources.
• Supervise team performance, attendance and productivity.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas to meet cleanliness standards.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Maintenance and external providers.
• Manage inventories, linen, cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Address guest feedback and housekeeping-related complaints.
• Support recruitment, training and development of team members.
• Contribute to budgeting and labour cost control while maintaining safety.
