Job summary

Techconsult AS seeks a Planning / Senior Planner for Haugesund or Asker to lead schedule planning, resource control and cost management for engineering scopes in EPC projects. You will identify critical paths, perform schedule risk analyses and drive mitigation actions, aligning with contract requirements and company methods.

Master or Bachelor in technical/commercial fields is required with 3+ years in project planning, strong Safran Project (and Primavera) skills, and excellent English

• Minimum 3 years work experience within project planning from EPC projects.
• Experience from engineering planning.
• Experience with and working knowledge of Safran Project.
• Excellent skills within Safran Project; candidates with Primavera will be evaluated.

Responsibilities

• Schedule planning, resource planning and cost control for the engineering scope.
• Establish and maintain Level 4 (and Level 5?) for the engineering scope.
• Lead project progress reviews and validate & challenge actual progress.
• Highlighting the critical path and risks linked to the project schedule and propose actions.
• Follow up the overall scheduling according to contract, regulations and work processes.
• Provide planning analysis to ensure correct management decisions.
• Communicate all potential scheduling issues to planning manager for adjustments.
• Proactively search for opportunities to improve the schedule.

Job responsibilities:

Schedule planning, resource planning and cost control for the engineering scope. This requires proactively collecting information from various stakeholders in the project.

Establish and maintain Level 4 (and Level 5?) for the engineering scope.

Lead project progress reviews and validate & challenge actual progress.

Highlighting the critical path and risks linked to the project schedule for the scope and propose the optimization & mitigation actions.

Follow up the overall scheduling according to contract, authority regulations and work processes.

Provide planning manager and project management with scheduling analysis to ensure correct management decisions.

Communicate all potential scheduling issues to planning manager to ensure needed adjustments, mitigations and improved performance.

Proactively search for opportunities to improve the schedule and ensure materialization of these.

Your experience and qualifications:

Master or Bachelor within technical or commercial topics. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal qualifications.

Minimum 3 years work experience within project planning from EPC projects.

Experience from engineering planning

Experience with and working knowledge of Safran Project

Experience with and knowledge of companys method

Excellent skills within the use of Safran Project. Candidates with excellent skills within Primavera will also be evaluated.

Highly competent within critical point analysis, schedule risk analysis – monitor and follow up closely

Scenario planning with the ability to suggest mitigating actions to recover project delay.

Experience with working together with contract, estimation, risk and cost resources to ensure alignment between plan and their deliverables.
