Job summary

Techconsult AS is seeking a Senior Instrument Engineer for Stavanger to lead discipline engineering activities offshore. You will manage instrument engineering, documentation, and material ordering, ensuring alignment with project plans and change control processes.

The role requires extensive Oil & Gas experience, knowledge of NORSOK/PTIL/API standards, and fluent Norwegian and English. Offshore postings include safety-critical systems and complex P&ID interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required (or 10-15 years of relevant experience).
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of NORSOK, PTIL, and API standards.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce/understand new documentation and drawings including Cauce & Effect, SCD diagrams, and loop drawings for process, Fire&GAS and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations.
• Revise existing documentation and drawings.
• Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project.
• Order all instrument materials needed for offshore installation.
• Understand P&IDs and drawings from different disciplines and discuss technical solutions with Client and vendor representatives.

Senior Discipline Responsible Engineer (Senior DRE) is responsible for discipline engineering activities. The Senior DRE shall ensure that the work within the discipline is carried out according to plan and that progress is reported. The Senior DRE shall ensure that potential changes/deviations are identified and logged in accordance with project change control system.

Job responsibilities:

Produce/understand new documentation and drawings such as Cauce&Effect, System Control Diagrams (SCD) diagrams, loop drawings for process, Fire&Gas and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations.

Revise existing documentation and drawings.

Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project.

Order all instrument materials needed for offshore installation.

Must be able to understand P&IDs and drawings from different disciplines.

Discussions with Client and vendor representatives in order to find optimal technical solutions.

Your experience and qualifications:

Lack of education requires 10-15 years of relevant work experience

More than 10 years experience in engineering within the Oil&Gas industry.

Must have knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as NORSOK, PTIL and API standards

High degree of self learning skills

Good communication

Excellent Norwegian and English writing & speaking skills

Knowledge of modifications on offshore installations when in operation
