Job summary

Dorminy Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to manage scheduling, registration, and pre-admission processes in a courteous outpatient setting. You will verify insurance, collect payments, and support accurate billing with signatures and required forms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Experience in a healthcare office preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; Spanish preferred.
• Certification courses through DMC within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates computer and phone systems to schedule, change, cancel, coordinate, and confirm appointments.
• Verifies and updates patients' insurance and demographic information.
• Verifies and updates insurance cards and other billing documents, scanning them into the system.
• Communicates patient financial responsibility and collects payments in advance of services.
• Prepares patient documents and obtains signatures for forms and consents.
• Assist patients with information regarding Financial Assistance and Privacy practices.
• Maintain competency and meet productivity benchmarks; attend regularly.
