Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Patient Access Manager for its operations in Norway, ME and North Conway NH. You will oversee Patient Access teams responsible for Centralized Check In/Sign In, outpatient registrations, ED registration and admissions, and switchboard services.

Lead a 24/7 workforce, drive continuous improvement, ensure data integrity, and support timely payments while maintaining patient service excellence across our health system.

Qualifications

• Education: 2 year college degree or equivalent leadership experience.
• Experience: 1-2 years in a related Healthcare Field and 1-2 years leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office products and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of Patient Access teams including Centralized Check In/Sign In, registration of outpatient services, ED Registration and Admissions and switchboard services.
• Provide leadership, support and direction in applying Patient Access standards and continuous improvement principles.
• Maintain processes, data system accuracy and infrastructure to ensure timely payment and prompt clinical services.
• Achieve department metrics monthly and foster staff involvement in process improvements.

Summary:
The Patient Access Manager at Stephens Hospital in Norway, ME and Memorial Hospital in North Conway NH provides direct oversight of Patient Access teams that complete functions including Centralized Check In/Sign In for outpatient services, registration of outpatient services, ED Registration and Admissions and switchboard services. The manager oversees staff working 24/7 and is responsible for providing leadership, support and direction in the application of the Patient Access standards and principles of continuous improvement. The scope of responsibility includes maintaining the processes, data system accuracy and infrastructure ensuring that MaineHealth receives timely payment for services provided or makes alternative financial arrangements, and that patients receive prompt clinical services. The Patient Access Manager ensures that the financial goals and objectives based upon the department metrics are achieved monthly for each area of responsibility. Creates an environment where new ideas are encouraged. Reinforces staff involvement in all improvement activities, develops department goals and objectives which support the health system. Maintains a full understanding of each role within the process and its impact on the larger scope of the Revenue Cycle.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: 2 year college degree or equivalent leadership experience.
2. License/Certifications: N/A
3. Experience: 1-2 years in a related Healthcare Field and 1-2 years leadership experience preferred.
4. Has the experience and analytical skills necessary to identify innovative opportunities for improvement including process redesign principles, organizing and overseeing the work of others to ensure that objectives are performed in alignment with department standards.
5. A high level of self-activation and ability to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment requiring prioritization of multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to present and explain information to customers and stakeholders. Communication skills include experience working with Microsoft Office products.
7. Customer service experience required including training in customer service principles.
8. Must be able to handle sensitive, stressful and confidential situations and account information.

The pay range for this position is $66,123.20to $89,481.60per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
