Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires completion of one of the following: EMT course, 1 year MA experience, MA education program, or University Hospital MA certification program.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a healthcare setting and support licensed staff.
• Ability to assist with basic patient care tasks and clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Report patient concerns and changes in condition to licensed staff.
• Perform CLIA waived lab tests as identified by department.
• Assist with injections, catheterization and suture removal.
• Chaperone healthcare providers during examinations as needed.
• Monitor and clean patient rooms and equipment; restock as required.
• Schedule appointments and tests under supervision.
• Attend mandatory education including infection control and CPR.
