Job summary

Kragerø Resort is seeking a service-minded Head Waiter to lead the restaurant service team and ensure outstanding guest experiences. In addition to leadership, you will support the Food & Beverage operation in evenings and some day shifts, contributing to daily operations and training.

You will manage reservations, uphold high standards, collaborate with kitchen and other departments, and drive upselling initiatives while maintaining a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Head Waiter, Restaurant Supervisor, or similar leadership role within hospitality.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized and maintain a calm, professional attitude during busy service periods.
• Strong understanding of food, beverages, wine service, and restaurant operations.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when needed.
• Flexible, solution-oriented, and proactive approach to daily operations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high service standards.
• Experience with staff scheduling, training, and operational planning is an advantage.
• Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the restaurant and service team.
• Ensure guests receive professional, personalized, and high-quality service.
• Plan and coordinate service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special events.
• Be operational in the restaurant and support the team whenever needed.
• Motivate, develop, and follow up on waitstaff and other team members.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.
• Manage table reservations, guest feedback, and special requests.
• Contribute to upselling initiatives and help maximize departmental profitability.
• Work closely with the kitchen, front office, and other departments to create seamless guest experiences.
• Participate in the training and onboarding of new employees while promoting a positive work environment.
• Ensure high standards of presentation, table settings, and event execution.
• The majority of the position will involve evening shifts, although some daytime shifts may be required based on operational needs.
