Job description

The Service Design Engineer provides business knowledge and technical skills to implement technical strategies, evaluates product needs and provides a superior level of technical support to enhance our product range. A Service Design engineer performs mechanical and electrical design specifications with liaison with the global team to develop third party additions to our existing product line up. The current equipment, which includes metal detectors, checkweighers, and cabinet X-ray systems, will be a common basis for further project enhancements. This role requires independence and working under minimum supervision.

In addition, further support will be required for the field service – this element of the role will require trouble shooting and repair of the inspection equipment, providing site reports and recording the data internally. This will also require visits to customers sites.

We are focusing on candidates with the following skills and abilities:

• The ability to recognize and help with evaluation, design, and specification of third-party equipment to enhance our inspection equipment solutions
• Act as the first point of contact for our partners and suppliers to develop solutions
• Ability to visit partners and end user’s sites to recognize and support design solutions
• Functions as the liaison with OEMs on system communication and design
• Provides support to our sales representatives and other independent services to maintain a high level of support for our Anritsu customers
• Networks for new sales channel organizations in open territories
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools and electric meters in performing duties including Precision Measurement Devices
• Acts as assistance for technical support in field service issues on site or via phone support to customers or colleagues
• Provides troubleshooting as well as performs commissioning of equipment and planned preventative maintenance on machines
• Provides on-site and off-site customer training

To join us in this key role you will need to possess these essentials:

• Recognized apprenticeship in Electrical/Electronic Engineering / Conversant with Mechanical Engineering / Ex Armed Forces welcome to apply
• 5+ years of experience in project management & design
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting while connecting third party equipment - mechanically and electrically.
• Strong ability to effectively and clearly communicate with customers and internal staff
• Experience in using electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter and tachometer)
• Ability to read, interpret circuit diagrams and manufacturing drawings in 2D & 3D, intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge required
• Experience in CRM and ERP environments
• Familiarity within the food processing and pharmaceutical industries are ideal, but not required
• Ideally office based, but must be commutable to Venlo, Netherlands
