Job summary

Sioux Group, based in the Brainport region, seeks a Mechanical Architect to shape mechanical architecture for cutting-edge high-tech equipment. You will collaborate across disciplines with customers, project teams, and management to translate needs into robust designs and drive innovation.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional coordination, and delivering complex mechanical solutions while maintaining a broad systems view across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Proven track record in mechanical design within high-tech systems and/or equipment.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in mechatronic and precision system design, depending on seniority level.
• Broad multidisciplinary orientation; integrates mechanical expertise into complex systems.
• Strong analytical and abstract thinking with proficiency in methods.
• Excellent communication for collaboration with stakeholders.
• Recognized as a technical leader with deep design, mechanisms, and DfX knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, architects, Project Manager, Account Manager, and project teams to ensure alignment and synergy.
• Translate customer needs into specifications, define mechanical architecture, budgets, and conceptual designs.
• Specify test and integration requirements to complete the V-model development cycle and ensure quality.
• Build and maintain internal and external networks to support organizational growth.
• Drive innovation by introducing new technologies and practical solutions.
• Lead by example, motivating designers and engineers to own their deliverables.
• Manage broader scopes including stakeholder management and technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
