Job summary

Sioux, headquartered in the Brainport region near Eindhoven, is seeking a Senior Optical Designer to guide product creation from concept to industrialization for high-tech equipment. You will contribute to systems for wafer steppers, electron microscopes, and related applications from our Eindhoven office, with occasional client-site assignments.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams to translate ideas into robust optical designs, while mentoring colleagues and driving calibration,

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in physics or a closely related field.
5+ years' experience designing and industrializing optical systems for high-tech industries.
System-level mindset with ability to switch between high-level and detailed analysis.
Experience with system integration of optical subsystems including opto-mechanics, tolerance analysis, metrology, and calibration.
Strong understanding of optical measurement techniques, including holography and ptychography.
Excellent modelling, experimental and analytical problem-solving skills.
Good communication with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Apply optical system design expertise to realize innovative solutions for the high-tech industry.
Be involved throughout the product creation process: from ideation and feasibility through to robust designs and verification testing.
Work in multidisciplinary teams with system architects, computational physicists, image processing mathematicians, and others.
Mentor junior engineers and guide colleagues in their projects to develop technical talents.
