Job summary

Booking.com in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Accountant for FinTech Projects to lead accounting design, implementation, and testing of major initiatives. You will ensure reporting accuracy, robust controls, and compliance throughout product launches.

The role partners with Data Analytics and BI teams to embed reporting into the monthly close and balance sheet management. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in accounting, familiarity with US GAAP, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in projects and project management is preferred.
• Experience working with Product, Data Analytics, Technical Accounting teams.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and month-end close procedures.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted business partner to stakeholders, driving cross-functional projects with significant impact.
• Lead design, implementation, and testing of large-scale initiatives from an accounting perspective, focusing on long-term scalability.
• Collaborate to define and communicate accounting, reporting, and process requirements with robust controls and compliant reporting.
• Prepare documentation for processes, data, fund flows and instructions to support clarity.
• Work with Data Analytics and BI teams to design and test reporting solutions integrated into monthly close.
• Oversee monthly closing for new initiatives until transitioned to the operations close team.
