About the Role

For one of our international partners in the tech industry, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to support complex FinTech and payments‑related projects within a global accounting function. Based in Amsterdam, you will join the Global Accounting team, working within Payments Accounting. In this role, you represent Accounting in the discovery, design, implementation and testing of business initiatives where the organisation manages end‑to‑end fund flows between customers and partners - from pay‑in to payout. Reporting to the Controller, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams in Amsterdam and Bangalore. The role is project‑driven, fast‑moving and offers scope to grow as initiatives evolve and new products and services are brought to market. This position is well suited to a senior accountant who enjoys working at the intersection of accounting, product, data and technology.

What You’ll Do

Business partnering & projects

• Act as a trusted accounting business partner for cross‑functional stakeholders
• Lead and own accounting input for large‑scale FinTech and payments initiatives
• Represent Accounting in project discovery, design, implementation and testing

Accounting design & controls

• Define and align accounting, reporting and process requirements for new initiatives
• Ensure robust controls, compliance and scalable solutions are built into designs
• Document processes, fund flows and accounting instructions clearly and accurately

Reporting & data collaboration

• Partner with Data Analytics and BI teams to design and test reporting solutions
• Ensure new reporting integrates smoothly into the monthly close process

Month‑end & compliance

• Oversee month‑end close activities for newly launched initiatives
• Support transition to standard operational close once initiatives stabilise
• Collaborate with external accountants and auditors to ensure local compliance

Continuous improvement & teamwork

• Identify and support process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
• Act as a subject matter expert within the accounting team
• Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing team culture

What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including project‑based work
• Experience working with Product, Data Analytics and Technical Accounting teams
• Strong understanding of month‑end close and US GAAP
• Ability to understand technical designs and translate them into accounting impact
• Comfortable working with large datasets in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proactive, solution‑oriented and able to work independently
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA is a strong plus
• Fluent in spoken and written English

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience in payments, FinTech or platform‑based business models
• Exposure to global or multi‑entity accounting environments
• Experience supporting large transformation or product‑led initiatives
