Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Senior Accountant for PbB Payment Accounting Month Close in Amsterdam. You will own end-to-end close activities, perform reconciliations, and ensure US GAAP compliance across multiple entities.

This role requires strong analytical skills, SOX control execution, and collaboration with Finance, Tax, Legal, and Engineering. You will drive process improvements, support audits, and provide clear accounting guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/CPA) preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls (SOX).
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory reporting.
• Fluent English, strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end PbB month-end close activities for the assigned scope.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and post journal entries.
• Maintain complete general ledger balances and reconcile to sub-ledgers and source systems.
• Investigate variances and drive root-cause resolutions.
• Prepare balance sheet analyses and close documentation with audit trail.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory reporting.
