Job summary

Booking.com in Amsterdam seeks a Senior Controller - Technical Accounting to lead US GAAP and SEC technical accounting initiatives. You will report to the Head of Technical Accounting & Oversight and collaborate with global teams, ensuring accurate guidance for initiatives and complex transactions.

The role focuses on GAAP assessments, process improvements, and strong partnership with FP&A, Tax, and Reporting.

Qualifications

• Solid expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting.
• Familiarity with Risk & Controls, SOX, Financial Systems and Compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with postgraduate certification.
• Experience in a large, international, matrix organization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide US GAAP guidance to finance teams for new initiatives and transactions.
• Document and review technical accounting assessments under US GAAP.
• Oversee accounting function with deep understanding of financial statement items.
• Drive standardization, automation, and process simplification.
• Partner with Financial Controllers and other finance departments (FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Reporting).
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed.
