Job summary

Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport, part of PPHE Hotel Group, seeks a Duty Management Intern – February 2027 to support daily hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, and Maintenance, reporting to the Rooms Division Manager.

You will gain hands-on exposure to leadership, decision-making, and cross-department coordination in a fast-paced, international hotel setting, with 38 hours per week and a monthly €750 allowance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism Management, or related study programme.
• Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Proactive, organised, and eager to learn in a dynamic hotel environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and confidence working with multiple departments.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high service standards.
• Eligible to complete an internship in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Support the Rooms Division Manager in overseeing the daily operation of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance departments
• Act as a central point of contact for operational matters and assist in ensuring effective communication between departments
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, bars, and back-of-house areas to ensure hotel standards are maintained
• Assist with handling guest inquiries, complaints, and service recovery actions to ensure a positive guest experience
• Support the coordination of VIP arrivals, special requests, and guest recognition activities
• Monitor guest satisfaction and follow up on opportunities identified through guest feedback and reviews
• Assist with room inventory management, occupancy monitoring, and room readiness throughout the day
• Support Food & Beverage operations during busy periods, conferences, and group arrivals when required
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges efficiently
• Assist in managing emergency situations and ensure compliance with health, safety, and security procedures
• Prepare daily operational reports, shift handovers, and management updates
• Participate in departmental and operational meetings, contributing ideas to improve service quality and operational efficiency
• Support managers with projects, audits, training activities, and quality assurance initiatives
