Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for the Patient Finder product to shape data platform strategy and deliver robust pipelines and a scalable data warehouse. You will mentor engineers, drive cross‑team collaboration with Product, Engineering and ML leads, and balance reliability with velocity in a fast-growing healthcare analytics environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Python development experience for scalable, production-grade data solutions.
• Proven ETL/ELT pipeline design using Airflow, Prefect, Luigi or Dagster.
• Experience with dbt for data transformation and modelling.
• Experience with Databricks and data engineering workflows at scale.
• Advanced SQL skills with SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Experience building cloud-based data platforms and data warehouses.
• Experience leading development teams and providing architectural guidance.
• Ability to make independent architecture decisions balancing scalability and business needs.
• Strong data quality, lineage, observability, governance and performance practices.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration in agile teams; attention to detail; English proficiency.
• Based in Europe, preferably near Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of the data platform (pipelines + warehouse).
• Standardise patterns and reduce operational overhead across the data landscape.
• Ensure continuity and quality during change with release planning and validation.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine requirements and plan delivery.
• Raise engineering standards through reviews, testing and AI-assisted development.
• Collaborate with QA to improve tests and automation for pipelines.
• Collaborate with App and ML leads to integrate data components with the product ecosystem.
• Lead the data engineering team, coaching engineers and prioritising work intake.
