Job summary

IQVIA invites a Lead Data Engineer to steer the data platform, pipelines, and warehouse design for the Patient Finder product. You will align patterns across platforms, improve reliability, and guide stakeholders through architecture decisions.

You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, and ML teams to deliver scalable data solutions for healthcare analytics.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Python development for scalable, production-grade data solutions.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with modern orchestrators.
• Advanced SQL skills across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar, with DDL/DML mastery.
• Experience with Databricks and data engineering workflows at scale.
• Proficiency with dbt for data transformation, testing, and deployment.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of the data platform (pipelines + warehouse).
• Standardise patterns to improve maintainability and reliability across the data landscape.
• Ensure release planning, validation, risk management, and clear stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine requirements and backlog priorities.
• Raise engineering standards through code reviews, testing, and governance.
• Collaborate with QA to improve test maturity, coverage, and automation.
• Coordinate with AI/ML teams to integrate data components across the product.
• Lead the data engineering team, coaching engineers and managing work intake and priorities.
