Job summary

IQVIA's Patient Finder team in Europe seeks a Lead Data Engineer to drive the technical direction of data pipelines and data warehouse layers, alignment across platforms, and delivery of reliable, scalable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, own backlog intake, and collaborate with Product, Engineering and AI/ML leads to integrate data components with the wider product ecosystem, enabling robust analytics and healthcare impact.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python development with scalable production-grade solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines with orchestration.
• Experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling.
• Experience with Databricks and large-scale data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills in SQL Server / PostgreSQL.
• Experience building cloud-based data platforms and warehouses.
• Experience leading development teams and mentoring engineers.
• Ability to make independent architecture decisions with stakeholders.
• Strong data engineering best practices: quality, lineage, observability, governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of data platform (pipelines + warehouse).
• Standardize patterns, reduce overhead, improve maintainability and reliability.
• Plan releases with validation strategies and risk management.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine requirements and backlogs.
• Raise engineering standards with code reviews, testing, and AI-assisted tooling.
• Partner with QA to increase test maturity and automation.
• Collaborate with AI/ML leads to integrate data components with product ecosystem.
• Lead the data engineering team and mentor engineers.
