Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for its Patient Finder team. You will drive technical direction of data pipelines and data warehouse layers, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product and AI/ML leads to deliver scalable, reliable data solutions.

You will design end-to-end data platforms, standardise patterns, and improve maintainability and quality while balancing business priorities and engineering best practices. This role offers hybrid/work-from-home options within Europe.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python development
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with orchestration tools
• Experience with dbt for data transformation and documentation
• Experience with Databricks and data pipelines optimization
• Advanced SQL skills in enterprise RDBMS
• Experience building cloud-based data platforms and warehousing
• Experience leading development teams and providing architectural guidance
• Ability to balance scalability, performance, and business needs
• Strong data governance, quality, lineage, and observability practices
• Excellent English communication and collaboration in Agile teams

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of the data platform (pipelines + warehouse)
• Standardise patterns and reduce operational overhead across data landscape
• Ensure release planning, validation strategies and risk management
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine requirements and plan delivery
• Raise engineering standards through reviews and automated testing
• Increase test maturity, coverage, and automation with QA
• Integrate data components with the wider product ecosystem including ML pipelines
• Lead the data engineering team and mentor engineers
