Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Python development experience for scalable, production-grade solutions.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines with modern orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with dbt for data transformation, modeling, testing, and deployment.
• Experience with Databricks and large-scale data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills across enterprise RDBMS with DDL and DML.
• Experience building cloud-based data platforms and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience leading development teams or providing architectural guidance.
• Strong communication to translate complex tech to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of the data platform (pipelines + warehouse).
• Standardise patterns, reduce overhead, improve maintainability and reliability.
• Ensure change safety via release planning, validation, and risk management.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine requirements and priorities.
• Raise engineering standards with reviews, testing, and responsible AI-assisted tooling.
• Improve test maturity, coverage, and automation with QA.
• Integrate data components with the wider product ecosystem (search/ML).
• Lead the data engineering team and own work intake and prioritisation.
