Job summary

IQVIA’s Patient Finder team in Europe is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive the data platform roadmap, pipelines and data warehouse enhancements. You will lead cross-functional work, mentor engineers, and ensure scalable, reliable data solutions across product components including AI/ML pipelines.

You will design end‑to‑end data platforms using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools; collaborate with QA, product and engineering; and help shape future data architecture within a dynamic, hybrid

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Python development for scalable, production-grade solutions.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with modern orchestrators.
• Experience with dbt for data transformation, testing and deployment.
• Experience with Databricks and large-scale data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills with enterprise RDBMS.
• Experience building cloud-based data platforms and data warehouses.
• Leadership experience in data teams and architectural mentorship.
• Strong communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of the data platform (pipelines + warehouse).
• Standardise patterns to improve maintainability and reliability across the data landscape.
• Ensure release planning, validation strategies and risk management.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine requirements and plan delivery.
• Raise engineering standards with code reviews and testing practices.
• Increase test maturity and automation for pipelines and data transformations.
• Integrate data components with the wider product ecosystem (AI/ML pipelines).
• Mentor and coach data engineering colleagues and manage work intake.
