Job summary

Eurofins TMFI in Maastricht is seeking an IT Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site IT support to laboratory staff and business users, ensuring Windows environments run smoothly and securely. You will travel monthly to Bruges, Cologne, and Amsterdam, and support audits and asset management.

You will install and configure hardware and software, resolve incidents, assist with IT rollouts, and work with Infrastructure teams to maintain a compliant IT environment across sites.

Qualifications

• Has 3+ years of experience in IT Field Service, Desktop Support, or a similar role.
• Has strong knowledge of Windows environments and hardware troubleshooting.
• Has experience with tools such as Intune, SCCM, and laptop imaging.
• Is familiar with IT service management practices such as ITIL.
• Communicates clearly and is customer-focused.
• Is able to work independently across multiple locations (Maastricht, Brugge, Keulen, Amsterdam).
• Is fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is preferred.
• Has a valid Dutch driving license.

As an IT Field Service Engineer, you provide hands‑on technical support to business users on‑site, promote Eurofins IT best practices, and collaborate with IT teams on daily operations and projects. You work closely with Infrastructure teams and report into the IT organization, contributing to a stable and compliant IT environment.

In this role, you support users with hardware and software issues, ensuring fast and effective resolutions. You collaborate with colleagues across IT and ensure projects are delivered smoothly with minimal disruption to forensic business operations. You will be based in Maastricht, with regular travel to support offices in Bruges, Cologne, and Amsterdam. Travel to these locations is required on a monthly basis.

Key responsibilities

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service to laboratory staff and business users.

Field Support & End‑User Services

• Provide on‑site IT support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and specialist laboratory devices.
• Resolve incidents and service requests efficiently in line with agreed SLAs.
• Install, configure, maintain, and replace IT hardware and software.
• Support user account setup, access requests, and device onboarding.

Incident & Request Management

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues across hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the Lead IT Field Support Engineer or Infrastructure teams as appropriate.
• Support Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents when required, including out-of-hours support where agreed.

Site & Operational Support

• Provide IT support for forensic laboratories, ensuring minimal disruption to operational activities.
• Assist with IT rollouts, refresh programmes, and site‑based changes.
• Support basic network tasks at site level (patching, connectivity checks, device swaps).

Asset & Compliance Management

• Manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including deployment, tracking, and disposal.
• Ensure adherence to Eurofins security policies, data protection, and compliance requirements.
• Support audit activities where required, including evidence gathering and validation.

On Call & Out of Hours Support

• Participate in the IT Infrastructure on call rota, providing out-of-hours and emergency on‑site or remote support as required to maintain service continuity and meet Priority 1 and Priority 2 incident response targets.
