Job summary

Eurofins is seeking an IT Field Service Engineer to deliver hands-on on-site IT support across Maastricht and other EU offices. You will resolve hardware and software issues, install and configure devices, and ensure services meet defined SLAs while minimising disruption to forensic operations.

You will travel monthly to Bruges, Cologne, and Amsterdam, collaborate with Infrastructure teams, and contribute to secure, compliant IT environments.

Qualifications

• Has 3+ years of experience in IT Field Service, Desktop Support, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows environments and hardware troubleshooting.
• Experience with Intune, SCCM, and laptop imaging.
• Familiar with ITIL and IT service management practices.
• Clear communicator with a customer-focused approach.
• Willing to travel across Maastricht, Brugge, Keulen, Amsterdam monthly and hold a Dutch driving license.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site IT support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and lab devices.
• Resolve incidents and service requests within SLAs.
• Install, configure, maintain, and replace IT hardware and software.
• Assist with user accounts, access requests, and device onboarding.

As an IT Field Service Engineer, you provide hands‑on technical support to business users on‑site, promote Eurofins IT best practices, and collaborate with IT teams on daily operations and projects. You work closely with Infrastructure teams and report into the IT organization, contributing to a stable and compliant IT environment.

In this role, you support users with hardware and software issues, ensuring fast and effective resolutions. You collaborate with colleagues across IT and ensure projects are delivered smoothly with minimal disruption to forensic (business) operations. You will be based in Maastricht, with regular travel to support our offices in Bruges, Cologne, and Amsterdam. Travel to these locations is required on a monthly basis.

Key responsibilities

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Deliver a professional, customer‑focused service to laboratory staff and business users.
• Communicate clearly with users regarding progress, resolution, and next steps.
• Build positive working relationships with site staff and IT colleagues.

Field Support & End‑User Services

• Provide on‑site IT support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and specialist laboratory devices.
• Resolve incidents and service requests efficiently in line with agreed SLAs.
• Install, configure, maintain, and replace IT hardware and software.
• Support user account setup, access requests, and device onboarding.

Incident & Request Management

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues across hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the Lead IT Field Support Engineer or Infrastructure teams as appropriate.
• Support Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents when required, including out‑of‑hours support where agreed.

Site & Operational Support

• Provide IT support for forensic laboratories, ensuring minimal disruption to operational activities.
• Assist with IT rollouts, refresh programmes, and site‑based changes.
• Support basic network tasks at site level (patching, connectivity checks, device swaps).

Asset & Compliance Management

• Manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including deployment, tracking, and disposal.
• Ensure adherence to Eurofins security policies, data protection, and compliance requirements.
• Support audit activities where required, including evidence gathering and validation.

On Call & Out of Hours Support

• Participate in the IT Infrastructure on call rota, providing out of hours and emergency on site or remote support as required to maintain service continuity and meet Priority 1 and Priority 2 incident response targets.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has 3+ years of experience in IT Field Service, Desktop Support, or a similar role
• Has strong knowledge of Windows environments and hardware troubleshooting
• Has experience with tools such as Intune, SCCM, and laptop imaging
• Is familiar with IT service management practices (e.g. ITIL)
• Communicates clearly and is customer-focused
• Is able to work independently across multiple locations (Maastricht, Brugge, Keulen, Amsterdam)
• Is fluent in English; proficiency Dutch is preferred
• Has a valid Dutch driving license
