Job summary

Amsterdam Marriott Hotel is offering an HR internship for current Hotel Management students to gain hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding, associate relations and learning & development.

You’ll support administrative HR tasks, maintain personnel files, prepare contracts, update systems, and assist with reporting. After mastering core tasks, you may help with recruitment and L&D initiatives, contributing to the overall employee experience.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or HR.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent in English and/or Dutch; other languages a plus.
• Valid work permit/documentation for the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for associates on HR questions.
• Provide administrative support across HR functions including personnel records and payroll updates.
• Assist in organizing TakeCare activities and internal events for associate wellbeing.
• Support onboarding processes to ensure welcoming start for new hires.
• Prepare HR documents such as contracts, letters, and reports.
• Support recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews and posting vacancies.
• Contribute to internal communications and town hall preparations.

This internship is available for a minimum period of 5 months. The internship is available from July 2026. Please note that this position is only for current students pursuing a Hotel Management degree.

Are you passionate about Human Resources and eager to learn in a dynamic hospitality environment? Join our close-knit HR team at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel as an HR Intern, where you'll gain hands‑on experience across all areas of HR—from recruitment and onboarding to associate relations and learning & development.

During your internship, you will primarily focus on the administrative side of HR, supporting daily operations such as maintaining personnel files, preparing contracts, updating systems, and assisting with reporting. Once you’ve mastered these core tasks, you’ll have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities in areas like recruitment and L&D initiatives, contributing to the full employee experience.

You’ll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, development, and a positive work culture. This internship reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the first point of contact for associates with HR-related questions, helping to maintain strong associate relations.

• Assist in organizing and coordinating TakeCare activities and other internal events to support associate well‑being and engagement.
• Support the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a smooth and welcoming start.
• Assist in preparing HR documents such as contracts, letters, and reports.
• Once familiar with core administrative tasks, support recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews and posting vacancies.
• Contribute to internal communication efforts, including newsletters, digital updates, and town hall preparations.

What We’re Looking For

• You are currently pursuing a relevant Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Hospitality or Human Resources.
• You have strong organizational skills and can perform well under pressure.
• You are ambitious, flexible, and bring a positive attitude to your work every day.
• You speak fluent English and/or Dutch; additional languages are a plus.
• You hold a valid work permit or documentation that allows you to work in the Netherlands.
