Job summary

Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American, part of the Dalata Hotel Group, is seeking a Receptionist for day and night shifts in Amsterdam. You’ll be the friendly first point of contact, handling check-ins, reservations, and guest inquiries with warmth and professionalism.

Ideal candidates will have an MBO Hotel School diploma, 2 years in front office, strong English skills, and knowledge of Opera PMS. Dutch language is a plus; flexible availability is expected.

Qualifications

• MBO Hotel School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferably 2 years’ experience as receptionist or front office staff.
• Proficient with Opera PMS and other hotel systems.
• Excellent English communication; Dutch or another language a plus.
• Knowledge of Amsterdam and hospitality passion required.
• Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure.
• Flexible to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism.
• Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
• Manage reservations, payments, and financial transactions.
• Answer questions and handle guest requests with confidence and care.
• Share recommendations about Amsterdam’s attractions and dining.
• Communicate clearly with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Support guests with wake-up calls and messages; resolve concerns empathetically.
• Maintain daily overview of arrivals, departures, and room allocations.
• Keep front desk and lobby neat, professional, and welcoming.
