Job summary

Albert Heijn is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead two DevSecOps teams within the Data Differentiation Platform. You will manage two teams (~30 engineers) delivering secure, reliable database and scheduling services across Azure/OCI, with a FinOps focus.

You’ll collaborate with architecture, product, and security leaders to evolve the data management landscape, drive high-quality delivery, and ensure future-proof solutions.

• Proven experience leading multiple engineering or platform teams in a data management or infrastructure environment.
• Strong understanding of database technologies and scheduling platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Deep knowledge of reliability, operational excellence, automation, and service continuity.
• Practical experience with secure operations and data protection practices.
• Strong organizational and delivery management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Central Database and Scheduling team, fostering ownership and engineering excellence.
• Build empowered, autonomous, T-shaped teams and remove non-technical overhead.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of database and scheduling services with resilience and maintainability.
• Embed security by design across engineering practices and ensure security standards are met.
• Drive automation, monitoring, scheduling reliability, and operational support across the team.
• Translate business needs into executable, outcome-focused delivery plans with stakeholders.
• Align technical decisions with architectural and security guidelines.
• Monitor platform performance, incidents, delivery metrics, and spend to improve delivery.
