Job summary

Albert Heijn is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Data Differentiation Platform to lead two DevSecOps teams (roughly 30 engineers) responsible for the database platform and scheduling services supporting Albert Heijn, Etos, and Gall & Gall.

The role focuses on secure, reliable, and scalable data management, with Azure/OCI, FinOps, and strong collaboration with architecture, product, and security leaders to evolve the data landscape and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Proven experience leading multiple engineering or platform teams in data management or infrastructure.
Strong understanding of database technologies and scheduling platforms.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Deep knowledge of reliability, operational excellence, automation, and service continuity.
Experience with secure operations and data protection.
Strong organizational and delivery management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the Central Database and Scheduling team, fostering ownership and accountability.
Build autonomous, high-performing teams and remove blockers.
Ensure high-quality delivery of database and scheduling services with resilience.
Embed security by design and ensure compliance with security standards.
Drive automation, monitoring, and operational excellence across the platform.
Collaborate with architecture, product, and security leaders on roadmaps.
Monitor performance, incident trends, and delivery metrics.
Manage capacity, hiring, and skill development.
