Job summary

Investigo is seeking a Commercial Contracting & CAPEX Lead for a large-scale operations environment in the Netherlands. The role focuses on driving commercial practices, partnering with senior stakeholders, and supporting major capital investment programmes across CAPEX, supplier performance, and procurement transformation initiatives.

A hybrid working arrangement is offered with regular travel to Wilp and Moerdijk.

• Develop sourcing strategies and support tendering activities across key spend categories.
• Manage supplier performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost optimisation.
• Influence stakeholders across multiple functions and help embed best practice commercial disciplines throughout the business.
• Assess contractual risks and ensure robust governance and compliance standards are maintained.

Commercial Contracting & Capital Projects Lead

Our client is a leading industrial organisation operating large-scale processing and operational facilities across the Netherlands. Following significant investment across its sites, they are looking to strengthen their commercial and procurement capability with the appointment of a Commercial Contracting & Capital Projects Lead.

This is not a traditional contracts role. The business is looking for someone who can act as a genuine change maker, partnering with senior stakeholders to improve commercial practices, influence decision-making and support the delivery of major capital investment programmes.

You'll play a key role across CAPEX projects, supplier performance, commercial negotiations and procurement transformation initiatives, helping the organisation maximise value whilst reducing risk and improving ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and contractual activities across major CAPEX, engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Negotiate and manage high-value supplier and contractor agreements.

About You

• Experience supporting large-scale CAPEX, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, engineering or energy projects.
• Proven ability to drive change and improve processes within a complex organisation.
• Strong commercial, procurement and contract negotiation skills.
• Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and challenging the status quo.
• Experience managing strategic suppliers and contractor relationships.
• Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
• Willing to travel regularly to Wilp and Moerdijk, whilst benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
• Knowledge of FIDIC, LOGIC, IChemE or similar commercial frameworks would be advantageous.
