key responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end technical design and development of Java-based applications
Guide and mentor a team of developers, fostering best practices in coding, architecture, and agile delivery
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and QA to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions
Work on a mix of modern Java (Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices) and legacy Java technologies (JSP, Servlets, Struts, etc.)
Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices
Drive the modernization of legacy applications to current tech stacks where needed
Take ownership of technical decision-making and issue resolution
6+ years of Java development experience, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity
Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services
Solid understanding of legacy Java technologies (e.g., JSP, Servlets, Struts, JDBC)
Experience designing and developing in microservices architecture
Familiarity with front-end integration (HTML, JavaScript) and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL)
Proficient in Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Prior experience in migrating legacy systems to modern Java frameworks
Background in Agile/Scrum environments
