Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance, repair, and rewinding of electric motors, generators, alternators, and related rotating equipment.
Manage workflow from inspection to testing, ensuring minimal downtime.
Allocate work based on technician specialization (winding, machining, diagnostics, etc.).
Supervise dismantling, inspection, fault diagnosis, rewinding, reassembly, and final testing of machines.
Ensure adherence to industry standards like IEEE, IEC, or NEMA for electric machines.
Review and validate test results (e.g., insulation resistance, surge comparison, core loss).
Maintain specialized tools such as coil winding machines, dynamic balancing machines, and surge testers.
Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing instruments.
Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
Maintain service records, test certificates, and repair reports.
Coordinate with QA/QC for audit compliance and ISO procedures (if applicable).
Enforce electrical safety protocols (lockout/tagout, PPE usage, grounding practices).
Manage safe handling of varnishes, solvents, and resins used in winding processes.
Conduct periodic HSE training and audits.
Supervise technicians skilled in armature rewinding, stator/rotor repair, dynamic balancing, and insulation testing and repair.
Conduct or arrange training in new technologies (e.g., inverter-duty motor repairs, servo motors).
Communicate with customers regarding repair scope, timelines, and costs.
Prepare detailed service reports with root cause analysis.
Manage urgent breakdown jobs and prioritize workloads accordingly.
Maintain stock of copper wire, insulation materials, bearings, sleeves, etc.
Coordinate procurement of OEM parts and consumables.
Background in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
Hands-on experience with motor/generator repair.
Familiarity with industry test standards (IEEE 43, IEEE 112, etc.).
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
